I’m excited to share that VAST has been named the Overall Data Technology Company of the Year in this year’s Data Breakthrough Awards.

The recognition is gratifying given the new path we have charted for data infrastructure in the age of AI and deep learning. Highlights from the past year include:

• Unveiling the VAST Data Platform and with it a new category of AI infrastructure that puts data at the center of how systems think, react, and discover. This breakthrough empowers organizations to derive insights from data in ways never before possible, enabling unprecedented advancements in technology, economics, social dynamics, and scientific research.

• Establishing ourselves as the data platform of choice for the next generation of public cloud providers focused on delivering AI compute and storage services. AI clouds including CoreWeave, Lambda, and Core42 (a G42 company) all in 2023 standardized on VAST as their data foundation.

• Partnering with leading global enterprises and research organizations, including Pixar, TACC, and Zoom, chose VAST to provide the scale, performance, and multi-tenant AI cloud capabilities required to power the massive AI training and inference applications now transforming everything from business, to science, to society itself.  

• Announcing a Series E funding round led by Fidelity Management & Research Company that values the company at $9.1b, nearly tripling our valuation from 19 months earlier. 

We don’t have much time to spend looking back, however, as the coming year promises to be an even bigger year for VAST. Thank you to our customers, our partners, and our team of VASTronauts who have contributed to the breakthrough concept of a platform that can breathe new life into data.
